Why People Move

People move for different reasons; a better job, a job transfer, different climate, to be close or closer to family and I'm sure there are other reasons why people move. Now, we can make it official; we are moving back to South Florida; our home previously for about 4.5 years. There's a lot I like about Florida. I love the ocean and I love the weather - especially Nov - March. And we have a a lot of great friends and a great church there. I will miss KY a lot! I am a KY boy and always will be. But our reason for moving is much stronger than the love of a state. Our reason for moving is our love of family - to be close to Lyndsey, Andrew and our soon to be grandchild. We are extremely excited about being grandparents! Our kids never had a chance to know their real grandparents. My parents and Mary's parents died at fairly young ages. We adopted some grandparents for them (Which is a cool story) and that was wonderful, but it's just not quite the same. We have a chance to be grandparents now and (did I already mention) we are excited! So Florida - here we come. We are blessed...

I am scheduled to start my new job/career July 27th. Mary will follow when the house here sells.

Spread the love of the Cats down there. A lot of people are lost in the Sunshine State.

Kentucky is the South way more thank South Florida will ever be. Don't let the map fool you.

Welcome back!! I never ever expected you guys to move back, but it's fully understandable. I know I will now have to revive our hurricane preparedness plans since we've had nada after you left....:)

In ref to Justin: In Fla the further south you move the further north you are!

Ted...ain't that the truth. Jacksonville is about as Southern as it gets (for a big city). Miami might as well be a Southern version of NYC, with some palm trees, beaches, and heat. There's a spectrum in between those two, all along the FL Atlantic coast.

Wait. I thought the further south you went the more Cuban it became. Congrats to Mike and Mary on their decision to move south again. Good point, Ted, on the hurricane preparedness plans. I think the basic plan would be: 1. If Mike evacuates, stay. 2. If Mike stays, evacuate.
