I'm Not Sure Why...But I Like This Commercial

I guess it's because my mind becomes instantly scattered when a see a man in his pajamas talking to Abraham Lincoln who is reading the newspaper, and a talking beaver who is eating with a fork while accusing honest Abe of cheating at chess, and an astronaut from the 60's preparing something at the kitchen counter. I think it's funny and brilliant at the same time. Too bad 28 seconds of the spot is taken up by disclaimers.

Meet "Fatso"

Yep...we got another cat. She belonged to a lady's mother who Mary works with. Allie.....not real impressed. "Fatso" is a bit overweight. Hoofin it up and down the steps and running from Allie could provide some much needed exercise.

"The War"

Man...I have watched a couple of episodes and turned the TV off feeling shocked, respectful, horrified and grateful. Try to watch it on PBS when you can. Columnist Gary Kamiya had this to say.

"Sixty-two years ago, the greatest conflict in the history of humanity came to an end. Fifty to 60 million people had died. Many millions more were wounded or had lost their homes. Nations were shattered. The most appalling genocide ever had taken place. And for the first time, nuclear weapons had been used, raising the specter of human extinction.
Every way of trying to tell a story this vast carries with it blind spots, reveals its own assumptions and biases. Ken Burns' "The War" is no exception. But this magnificent 15-hour series will stand as one of the most extraordinary accounts of war ever made. Panoramic in its sweep, unflinching in its openness to all the faces of war, crafted with rare intelligence and sensitivity, "The War" is an epic achievement.
Ken Burns makes deeply emotional films that pluck America's chords of memory. In the case of World War II, this approach feels absolutely right."

Cool Story

But when I gave my life to God, I felt like He gave me the courage to say no to my rock-star dream, to say no to my own desires, and to look at her and say, "Yes, I'm going to be home, and I'm going to take care of you. It's about you now." So, it wasn't that hard. People think, "What about all that money and fame?" Well, I had that for 10 years, and it wasn't making me satisfied. It was cool and everything, but it wasn't what I thought it was going to be. It was like freedom when I quit Korn.

Big Day Today....KY 28 - Louisville 26 - Heard It Here First

"You're going to see two of the best quarterbacks in the nation and probably two future NFL quarterbacks that are homegrown," Kentucky coach Rich Brooks said. "It's a very significant event when you can have two quarterbacks who, in high school, were only about 35 miles apart."

And They Say UK Basketball Fans Are Crazy?

Look Familiar?

I use a PC now in my job. I forgot how much fun they are. I was a sceptic when I bought the Mac but now I'm thankful I still have it for personal use.

Psst...America's enemies....please don't listen.

OK...I may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer (Please - no comment on this) but after briefly tuning in to the Petraeus hearing today, I couldn't help but think "Why are we disclosing our strategies on national TV?"
