I predicted last winter that the Billy Gillispie story would end badly - but - maybe I was wrong. Having your mugshot for a DUI all over the papers and sports channels is not good but at least he's smart enough to recognize he has a problem and he's taking steps to overcome it. Best of luck to BCG with his personal life but I hope he loses his legal battle against the University of KY. This certainly won't help his case.
HOUSTON - Former Kentucky basketball coach Billy Gillispie voluntarily checked himself into the John Lucas Athletes After Care Program last week in Houston for alcohol-related counseling. Kentucky Bourbon is some rough stuff. Maybe Pitino could share a seat on the way....
He really blew that whole opportunity. That job was perfect for him, if he had only shown a little humility once in a while. I hope he gets the help he needs.
They achieve such heights, then fall so far. It is sad, but God has a way of putting things into perspective.
