The names will be numbered and thrown into a hat to determine the order of how your horses will be picked. It looks like everyone will have at least 2 picks and 2 people will have 3 picks. You'll have to check back next Saturday to see who your picks are. It's Derby time in the Bluegrass!

Hmmm . . . two contenders with 3 picks. I wonder if we could draft one more family member like Kay, Jeff, or Mark to compete . . .
Nope - sorry - the people listed are in the order they responded to the original blog entry. If you don't check the blog, you don't get to play.
Ooohh, this guy's tuff...anybody with a recipe for a mint julep? I expect Mary to be wearing a fancy hat
The Early Times Mint Julep Recipe
2 cups sugar
2 cups water
Sprigs of fresh mint
Crushed ice
Early Times Kentucky Whisky (or other premium KY whiskey)
Silver Julep Cups
Make a simple syrup by boiling sugar and water together for five minutes. Cool and place in a covered container with six or eight sprigs of fresh mint, then refrigerate overnight. Make one julep at a time by filling a julep cup with crushed ice, adding one tablespoon mint syrup and two ounces of Early Times Kentucky Whisky. Stir rapidly with a spoon to frost the outside of the cup. Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint.
I have a nice UK ball cap Mary can wear. :)
From Germany...
I can't wait!
I love the enthusiasm even over the blog for the derby!
