LOS ANGELES -- February 13, 2009: Former President Bill Clinton told Mario Solis Marich on Clear Channel's Talk KTLK/Los Angeles that he'd like to see the Fairness Doctrine return, "or we ought to have more balance on the other side." Michael Calderone reports on Politico.com that Clinton said there is "a lot of big money to support the right wing talk shows." Clinton also conceded that Rush Limbaugh is "fairly entertaining even when he is saying things that I think are ridiculous" and said he didn't support the repeal of the Fairness Doctrine back in 1987. Sens. Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) and Tom Harkin (D-IA) are on record as supporting the return of the Fairness Doctrine, with Stabenow saying she thinks hearings on the topic of "accountability" are likely. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has also said she'd like to see the doctrine back in place. No legislation to bring it back has been introduced, however.

Butthead Clunks Free Throws - KY Wins!! 68-65
What a game! Meeks hit a three with 4 seconds to go up 68-65 then FL's Butthead (Calathes) (pictured) gets fouled with .6 seconds while shooting a three - clunks the first two and throws up a prayer on the third. Very big win for KY! I hope Patterson is OK after going out midway through the second half with a severe ankle injury. Calathes (pictured) seems a bit upset.
Very Large Game Tonight
This game has become KY's biggest rival on the schedule outside of the Louisville game. Can Billy G out coach Billy D? Will we be able to contain Calathes? Will Meeks break lose? Will KY be able to stop a team from hitting three's? Will KY's super frosh DeAndre Liggins step up? I must admit I don't have a lot of confidence we'll pull this one out; too many questions regarding this KY team. If we do - we're tied for 1st place in the SEC East. Go Cats! FLORIDA at KENTUCKY

A Second Chance
I watched the 60 Minutes interview with Sully & the crew last night. Every time I watch coverage of the crash I end up shaking my head in disbelief. The survivors are all so thankful to have a second chance at life. The story is one I will never get tired of hearing because there are so many stories within the lives of each survivor. It's great news in a crazy world. A reminder that life is short. And it's a reminder of what it's like to be a pilot. I am very thankful that Justin & Rick also have the best training possible. I pray they never have to call upon it.

Would You Please Just Shut Up!
How's this for leadership? “This is a big problem, and it’s going to get worse.” That's BO on the economy. Sure does a lot for consumer confidence doesn't it? There's only one reason he would keep saying this; politics. If he's right, he's right. If he's wrong, he'll still get credit for the rebound. He personally can't really lose by saying it but it sure doesn't help matters. I can just picture one of my football coaches at half time when we're down by three touchdowns. "Boys, this is a big problem, and it's going to get worse." That's not leadership. That's just stupid.
Endorsements = $$
Michael Phelps won't be getting the munchies for Corn Flakes anytime soon. Kelloggs has pulled out of their relationship with the great but not so smart swimmer after the bong photo surfaced. I noticed during the Olympics his eyes were red before he jumped in the pool. And what about all that screaming he did? I thought he was just over the top but now I know he was juiced up. I'm surprised he was able to stay in his own lane. Most of his major sponsors, such as Visa, Speedo, luxury Swiss watchmaker Omega and sports beverage PureSport's, have stood by Phelps. I think I will still eat an occasional bowl of Corn Flakes but I'm definitely getting rid of my Visa card that I used to buy my Speedo. I don't wear a watch anymore so I'm not worried about that and I don't have a clue what the beverage PureSports is. Maybe they should call it Not So PureSports. Speaking of endorsements; what are the possibilities now for US Airline pilot - Sully? Mercury Boats? Bird food? Butterball turkeys? How about the drug company manufacturing Calm-X?

Cats In Deep Doo-Doo After Third Straight Loss
Big Blue Nation is in an uproar. Something has gone very very wrong with this team. Billy is losing fan support very quickly. The message boards were in a meltdown last night after KY's at home loss to Miss State. The locker room was in a meltdown too. The Cats Pause writes: "Moments after Kentucky lost its third straight game, a convincing 66-57 victory by Mississippi State on Tuesday, the Cats locker room erupted. “We just had a huge confrontation in the back right after the game was over,” sophomore Patrick Patterson said. “No one was scared to say what they felt like needed to be said." And they went on to say Billy just stood back and let the players go at it. My opinion - the Bobby Knight type head games Billy has played with his players all year has come back to bite him. This team is either headed horribly south or they will make an about face. I have never seen a KY team as confused as this one. This is not fun to watch.
